We do not have any data on the safety of use of OPTASE Protect with contact lenses. However, there are reports in the literature that HOCL (the main ingredient in OPTASE Protect) can be used with contact lenses. We do recommend that contact lenses are always removed before cleansing with OPTASE Protect, OPTASE Tea Tree Oil Lid Wipes, and OPTASE Tea Tree Oil Eye Lid Cleansing Gel and any other lid cleansing product.
We would advise that the patient checks with their contact lenses provider if HOCL is suitable for use with that brand/material of contact lenses.
